Frequently Asked Questions
Ordering & OEM
Q1. Can I buy directly from this website?
No. This site is a product catalog. Use the Request a quote button on any product, or email us, and we will reply with pricing, availability and lead time.
Q2. Do you supply private-label or OEM versions?
Yes, on many models. Branding, packaging and some configuration options are available depending on the product and quantity. See OEM services.
Q3. Can I get a datasheet or manual?
Yes. Use the Request datasheet button on the product page, or email us the model number.
Q4. Is there a minimum order quantity?
For standard products, orders are quoted per project. Private-label work usually has a minimum quantity, which we confirm in the proposal.
KVM Switches
Q1. Do I need to install drivers or software?
The KVM switches listed here are plug-and-play for keyboard and mouse operation. Check each product's features for any optional tools.
Q2. What is the difference between a KVM switch and a KM switch?
A KVM switch also switches the video, so several computers share one set of monitors. A KM switch only shares the keyboard and mouse, for setups where every computer keeps its own monitors.
Q3. Why does my computer rearrange windows after switching?
Some operating systems react when they stop detecting a monitor. Models with EDID emulation keep presenting a display to every connected computer, which prevents this.
Q4. Can I use a dual-monitor computer with a single-monitor KVM?
Only one of the displays will switch. For two screens per computer, choose a dual-monitor KVM.
Extenders
Q1. What cable should I use?
Use the cable category stated in the product specifications, solid-core for long runs. Shielded cable is recommended near sources of electrical interference.
Q2. Why is the maximum distance lower at 4K?
Higher resolutions carry more data, and signal quality over copper drops with length. That is why specifications quote separate distances for HD and 4K.
Q3. Can I connect a transmitter and receiver from different product families?
Generally no. Transmitters and receivers are designed as matched pairs. Each product page lists its companion unit where applicable.
Q4. What does PoC mean?
Power over Cable. One unit is powered locally and sends power to the other end over the same CAT.x cable, so only one power outlet is needed.
Video Distribution
Q1. One of my screens stays black behind a splitter. Why?
The most common causes are an EDID mismatch (the source picked a format the display cannot show) or an HDCP limit. Try the splitter's EDID setting, or see our EDID and HDCP guide.
Q2. Can I cascade splitters for more outputs?
Many splitters support cascading. Check the product features, and keep in mind that each level adds HDCP devices and cable length.
